Samsung Teams Up With Yahoo For Interactive TV Service

Samsung has just teamed up with Yahoo, creating a multi-year partnership that will bring the search company’s interactive Connected TV platform to Sammy’s 2012 lineup of smart TVs

Connected TV—software that brings interactive content like trivia, program statistics and playable games to the shows you’re watching—hasn’t gotten off to the best of starts so far. Clearly, though, Samsung thinks it shows promise. In particular, the tie-in will allow Samsung TV users to use their smartphone or tablet as an extra remote, or as a means through which to consume Yahoo’s additional content. That sounds pretty good.

The one major downside? Yahoo’s service also recognizes commercials—so you could expect twice the advertising along with your entertainment.

Google has customized results for Obama, but not Romney…Not Fair !

“Once Web users search for “Obama,” they find modified results tailored to that search when they look up information about topics such as Iran or Medicare.”

Google isn’t treating searches related to presidential candidates fairly, a new report charges.
The Wall Street Journal reported yesterday that it commissioned a study on the way in which search results related to President Barack Obama and Mitt Romney are displayed on Google. The study found that when users search for “Obama” or “Romney,” Google displays standard results. Other related searches, however, are treated differently.

For example, the Journal tried to search for topics ranging from Iran to Medicare. Those who had already searched for “Obama” found that their results were customized to relate in some way to the president. Searches on those topics yielded no such customizations for Romney seekers.

Google has, of course, used personalization in its search results for a long time. And although it personalizes results for Obama searchers, the results did not necessarily show a political leaning toward one candidate or another. Indeed, those who searched for “Iran” would see results that contained mention of both Obama and Iran displaying both laudatory and negative pages.
Still, in a race that is incredibly close with one day until the election, such differences have caught the attention of folks on both sides.

For its part, Google told the Journal that its sole desire to is to “get users the best answers as fast as possible.” The company added that the Obama customization is the result of more people searching for “Obama” and then one of the political topics.

The trends set fourth by the Facebook “Talk” !!

“Can you hear me now?” an all time favourite saying said by cellular users nationwide. A quote that caught on like a hot wild fire on a summers day. Facebook “Talk” is the newest trends among today’s society.
Your Name: status update, what are you doing, is the first thing most Facebook users do once they log in. Update the world on what we are doing, wearing, who we are with or what kind of mood we are in. Status share everything about us, but we are the ones doing the sharing as the rest of the world waits and reads our life stories minute by minute.

The latest Facebook trend seems to be “Copy this in your status and pass it alone” The old fashioned chain letter or statements to give a boost in ones day. We, the Facebook user, as we know it basically represent sheep. We follow by direction with out question. We see it as a status and right away, we copy it as ours and keep the chain going. Good and bad can stem from this but non the less posses a unique trend to not only be a part of, but to watch and analyze how doing what we do on a daily basis with out thought can be the exact same thing everyone else is doing all over the world.

To all visitors who have come to the page because they read it in a status or they stumbled upon in an web based article, please comment and leave only your name and city. This can show how many people posted this as a status and followed everyone else like a sheep. Its also a neat way to find out how many people all over the world actually stumbled across this page as well.  Happy Blogging to all!

Stealing is bad… but stealing wndows 8….? Microsoft probably won’t mind !

Stealing is wrong. Downloading software illegally, without paying for it, and then using it, is wrong. There are no two ways about it. That said, I can’t help but feel that some companies want you to break the law. Take Adobe for example, whose discriminatory international pricing scheme actively encourages piracy.
In truth, companies sometimes derive important advantages from users stealing their software — widespread adoption being just one example. And recently, I couldn’t help but notice a confluence of factors that made me feel that Microsoft really won’t be very sorry if you steal Windows 8. Here’s why: Continue reading
