Mark Wahlberg and Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson add immensity to the term “movie buff” as their new action-crime-comedy, “Pain & Gain,” hits theaters this weekend.
In the Michael Bay film, Wahlberg and Johnson play body builders who hatch a meatheaded plan to extort money from rich guys in early 90s Miami Beach. When these American dreamers turn out to be nightmarish thugs, all sorts of Bayhem ensues.
We all know Wahlberg and The Rock will fill up the big screen, but here’s five facts about “Pain & Gain” that you may not know.
The Rock Needs Food!
1. If you’ve ever seen The Rock throw “The People’s Elbow,” you may have thought he could simply walk off the wrestling mat and be ready to play a body builder on set. But that’s not the case. According to USA Today, besides upping his workout regime, the 6’4″ former wrestler put on “12 to 15 pounds of muscle” by going on a crazy calorie binge that amounted to seven full meals a day, topping out at over 250 pounds.. Here’s how he divvied up his daily allowance of “good complex carbs and protein/fat sources.”
Breakfast: 10-ounce beef fillet, 2 cups of oatmeal, two-egg omelet.
Brunch: 8 ounces of cod, 12 ounces of sweet potatoes, 1 cup of steamed veggies.
Half lunch: 8 ounces of chicken (we’re assuming not fried), 2 cups of white rice, 1 cup of veggies.
Lunch: 8 more ounces of cod, 2 cups of rice, 1 cup of veggies.
Lunner (or maybe dunch): 8 ounces of steak, 12 ounces of baked potato fries, a salad.
Dinner: 10 more ounces of cod (really, can you ever get enough cod?) 2 more cups of rice, another salad.
Late-night snack: 30 grams of casein protein powder, 10-egg-white omelet (yes, 10!), 1 cup of veggies, a tablespoon of Omega-3 to wash it down.
Got Milk?
2. After going 150 days on that diet without cheating, The Rock broke his fast in the grandest of fashions. According to Muscle & Strength, Johnson went on a three round eating bender that consisted of 12 pancakes, followed by four “double dough pepperoni pizzas,” followed by 21 brownies and a jug of milk. Apparently The Rock isn’t much into moderation.

Chris Brown and Rihanna Are Still Together, Despite Reports

Chris Brown and Rihanna are over again? Not so fast.

While some reports say that Brown denied dating the “We Found Love” singer on Friday, it sounds like the two are still very much together.

Stories of the supposed split began circulating when Los Angeles radio station Power 106 tweeted a juicy message about Brown’s interview with the show “Big Boy’s Neighborhood.” Breezy was in the hot seat to promote his new single, “Fine China,” which comes out Monday.

When Brown was asked about whether he and RiRi would collaborate on any tunes for his upcoming album that’s expected later this year, Brown said there are plans for both of them to appear on both of their future projects. He also laughed it off when Big Boy joked that the two couldn’t finish recording together because they “are doing it too much in the studio.”
The “Don’t Wake Me Up” singer’s response to the question of when he’d last seen Rihanna, who began her “Diamonds” tour earlier this month, was straightforward.
“Man, it’s been a minute, though, because I haven’t had a chance to go out there on the tour yet, because I’ve been working,” Brown explained. “But I [saw] her right before she went out.”
The only time he came close to saying that he and Rihanna are not together was when Big Boy replayed a portion of a previous Brown appearance on the show, where Brown said he was not dating Rihanna and it turned out that he really was in a relationship with her.
Brown also didn’t sound like a single man on Tuesday when he appeared on Ryan Seacrest’s L.A.-based morning show, where he raved about his on-again, off-again girlfriend’s ability to forgive him after he assaulted her in 2009.
“I just tried my best to be the best man I could be over the years and just show her how remorseful and sorry I was for the incident,” Brown said. “And that time was probably the worst part of my life and being that she has and she’s a wonderful person I’m eternally grateful and thankful.”

Fashion Faceoff: Rihanna vs. Nicole Richie

What they wore: A black, long-sleeved crocodile dress from Tom Ford’s fall 2012 collection.

When they wore it: Rihanna, 25, turned heads when she wore the dress to the Met Gala in New York City in August 2012. For 31-year-old Richie, last month’s pre-Grammys soiree hosted by music exec Clive Davis in Beverly Hills marked the perfect occasion for the frock.

How they styled it: RiRi rocked a floor-length version of the design with a pair of pointy-toed Christian Louboutins and a cool updo, while Richie opted for a much higher hemline and accessorized with a clutch and — just like Rihanna — black pumps. Unlike RiRi, the “Fashion Star” judge sported sleek shoulder-length tresses.

Judge’s scorecard: “Diamonds” singer Rihanna was sexier all covered up in this textured creation than she’s looked stepping out in a lot less clothing. Also, her hairstyle adds a bit of that edginess for which she’s known. However, Mrs. Joel Madden had the right idea in cutting off her dress just below the knees, since she has such a petite frame, and her locks brought the drama.

Which look do you think is a cut above the other?

Evan Rachel Wood and Jamie Bell get married!

They did!
Evan Rachel Wood and Jamie Bell secretly got married in California on Tuesday, seven years after they first began dating. “The bride wore a custom dress by Carolina Herrera,” Wood’s rep says in a statement. “It was a small ceremony with close family and friends.” Before they officially announced their union, the actress expressed her happiness on Twitter, although she didn’t get into specifics. “Words cannot describe the happiness i am feeling,” she wrote. “Overwhelming.”
Strangely, the newlyweds were spotted the day before wearing wedding bands on their fingers as they made their way through Los Angeles International airport. Were they so excited to be married that they put the rings on before it was official?
Wood, 25, and the “Billy Elliott” actor, 26, reportedly got their marriage license on October 16 in Beverly Hills. While they waited in line, onlookers say they were holding hands and looked “excited and happy.”
This is the first marriage for both, although Wood was previously engaged to Marilyn Manson until 2010. After they split, she rekindled her romance with Bell, for whom she has a “J” tattoo on her ankle. The two first met when they played lovers in Green Day’s “Wake Me Up When September Ends” video.
Good Luck both of you !
